Buying a new matress
We recently invested in a new mattress and I was bewildered by the number of choices available. I just wanted something comfortable. I wasn't really interested in overhead cams and variable valve timing (oh wait that was car shopping).
Anyway, a local bedding manufacturer, Sleepys, has come up with a brilliant idea. A 60 day comfort guarantee.

Assuming that some people return the mattress after 60 days and that Sleepy’s then don’t dump the $2000 or $3,000 mattress, I imagine you run the risk that the mattress you buy has had two 150kg lovebirds bouncing on your “new” mattress for the past 2 months.
The mind boggles - glad I didn't buy from Sleepys.

I’m with you here. I don’t want to buy a mattress that someone else has used in any way whatsoever. Ewwwwwww. Have a great day Coach.

Now that would be really disgusting… and to tell the truth, that thing would never come on my mind… I would say, that what a great deal and would never come on my mind, that somebody could already sleep on it…
I will move to my own flat in few months and I have a problem that most, or all, beds are only 200 cm long and I want about 220 cm long bed, but I never saw such long bed and not to mention, that I never saw so long mattress too. Especially if I would like a mattress, which would be good for the back… I hope I find such and I hope, that it will be not too expensive…

now that you mention that they might be bouncing makes it kind of… well, unpleasant. as a person engaged in <a href=“http://www.matthewferry.com”> I don’t believe that the strategy is that good once people realize about the bouncing.

I have to disagree. A used mattress is like a good book. It tells the story of its past owners—if you listen to it right. One can tell how many slept on its springs, how often they made love, and if they suffered from incontinence. How can you not find that interesting?
(full disclosure: I have been banned from Sleepys showroom)
