The Ode

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Today, 25 April, is ANZAC day. We pause to remember those who have given their lives in all wars.

Lest we forget.

Our family usually goes to a service but we have just had a family funeral a few days ago and couldn’t handle another sad service.

I probably should have noted for non-Australian readers that “The Ode” is the fourth stanza of the poem “For the Fallen” by Laurence Binyon and is the traditional tribute to mark Anzac day.
