Word of the Week

I love words. I love finding new words. Thought I might try to post a new word every week. So here goes:

Week 1 - pusillanimous

If you know the meaning of the word of the week, write a comment (no dictionary use of course)

I’ve heard this used and in the context it seemed to mean “wussy” or similar.

Well done kyte - and isn’t “wussy” a wonderfully Aussie word

I’ll need to find a harder one for my second attempt.

pusillanimous - wussy ... ‘ I climbed a ladder but made sure I didn’t go above the pusillanimous rung because that would be too dangerous smile smile or maybe ‘ I went to go on a rollercoaster but my pusillanimous nerve kicked in and I chickened out” smile

Never heard of the word really.

Not to get vulgar.. but perhaps this is where the term “Pu@@y”, meaning someone who is a wuss, comes from.  I’ve always thought it was akin to calling someone part of the female anatomy, but this makes more sense.

Hadn’t thought of that possibility - makes sense though.
